Welcome to
the "Acts 29" House Groups & House Churches - Ministry
Introduction
We believe the book of Acts provides a good
foundation & example for House Groups and House Churches to follow.
As the Great Teacher of the Church, it is the purpose of the Holy Spirit
for every Born Again Believer to grow spiritually, live victoriously, and serve
the Lord effectively.
Back in the 70’s we (Bob & Jean) had an experience with a House Group ministry
in a neighboring town in northern Michigan. The Leader’s were Bro. & Sis. Hetler
and it was held in their home on Tuesday evening. In those meetings we
experienced God’s mighty presence and anointing. Actually, this is where we
learned to flow in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as well as (we realize know)
received Impartation, experienced Activation and saw the Manifestation
of the Spirit of God in our lives and the lives of other Believer’s. The
Hetler’s came through the Latter Rain movement in Detroit Michigan and were
great examples and mentors of the power & holiness of God. We saw and
experienced many miracles and answers to prayer.
Then for a period of time in the late 90’s we were involved in Leadership over
several Life Groups (House Groups) in southwest Michigan and we saw rapid growth
and multiplication as well as Salvations, Healings and Discipleship take place.
In the middle of Dec. 2002 on a Sunday morning as I (Bob) was waking up, the
Lord started speaking to me. “He said that the first reason for the
Outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the earth and around the world (already
started) was to bring in the Last Days Harvest of Souls”. Joel 2:28-32 v.32 And
it shall come to pass, that whoever calls on the Name of the Lord, “Shall be
Saved”. I thought to myself, I know that. However, what He said next I had not
thought too much about. “He said, the second reason is to “Revive the
Believer” so that the Believer will HELP, COOPERATE and PARTNER with HIM
to bring in this Harvest. Matt. 9:37-38.
Sense this time some of our Seminars in “The Believer’s School of
Training” has been Cell Group Leadership Training.
The Lord gave me the name Acts 29 House Group/Church in 2005, then in June of
2006 one of our Intercessor’s for our ministry brought us a book titled Acts 29,
fifty days of prayer to invite the Holy Spirit.
All of the above experiences and many more has led us to write this new Training
Manual, and we dedicate it to the memory of Bro. & Sis. Hetler, for their Love
for people and dedication to the Lord’s work and the Kingdom of God.
Vision
The Vision and three fold emphasis is Prayer, Outreach and
Discipleship, like the book of Acts. The “Fellowship of Believer’s” will happen
automatically during the application of these Biblical principles and truths,
just like the early Church. All Believer’s are to be involved some way in
winning others to Christ, discipling them (training, equipping, mentoring) and
again in turn, sending them out to do the work of ministry. Fulfilling the
“Great Commission”. Acts 2, Matt. 28:9-20, Mk. 16:15-20, Lk. 4:18-19, Eph.
4:11-12 and Hab. 2:2-3.
Mission
We feel strongly about the God given Mission for Acts 29
House Group/Church, that this Ministry continue the book of Acts in these Last
Days of the Church of Jesus Christ. We believe we are to cooperate with the
Spirit of God in bringing back Apostolic order in the Church, like the early
Church experienced. We also desire to bring restoration of the “Great Divorce”
between Prayer & Evangelism back to the Church. We need “Prayer Evangelism”
working to bring in this Last Days Harvest of Souls. This was a principle that
came from the Holy Spirit to the Early Church. We feel it is imperative that we
not only win the lost for Jesus, but also follow many of the same principles
Jesus demonstrated when He trained His Disciples.
